A Self-Care Day in Clawson, MI
Updated September 24, 2026
For a city of two and a quarter square miles, Clawson has a remarkable number of independent salons, studios and spas — most of them one- or two-person operations clustered on 14 Mile and Main. A full self-care day here is genuinely walkable.
Start with movement. The Canopy Studios at 317 S Crooks Rd is the Crooks Road studio option. Twyfit at 112 S Main St puts you downtown, which matters if you want to walk to the rest of the day rather than drive. HOTWORX at 147 E 14 Mile Rd is the infrared option if you want heat rather than a class you have to keep pace with.
Then coffee, before anything that involves sitting still for an hour. Sabbath Coffee Roasters at 24 E 14 Mile Rd roasts on site and is the quiet choice mid-morning.
Book the salon next. r. collective salon at 122 S Main St and The Brand at 42 E 14 Mile Rd are the two downtown rooms, and Hair Razors at 469 W 14 Mile Rd covers the west side of town. For nails, Side Street Nail Salon at 17 W Tacoma St is a half-block off Main, and Lacquer Lounge at 1565 Livernois Rd is the Livernois option.
Finish with a treatment. Studio Sculpt at 116 S Main St sits in the middle of the downtown blocks; La Vie Med Spa at 1077 W 14 Mile Rd is the 14 Mile corridor choice for anything more clinical; Pain Free America at 642 S Main St is the south Main option if recovery rather than relaxation is the point.
Two practical notes. Almost all of these are small independent businesses — several operate out of suites at 1139 W 14 Mile Rd — which means appointments, not walk-ins. Build the day backwards from whichever booking is hardest to get.
And if you want to end the day rather than rush home: Local at 143 E 14 Mile Rd is a two-minute walk from most of the downtown stops, and its patio is the easiest place in Clawson to sit and do nothing.
