A Perfect Saturday in Clawson, MI
Updated September 24, 2026
Clawson is small enough that you can do a whole Saturday on foot, and the best version of that day starts early on 14 Mile.
Begin at Sabbath Coffee Roasters at 24 E 14 Mile Rd. They roast their own, the room is quiet before ten, and it is the easiest place in town to sit with a cup and plan the rest of the day. If you want something to eat with it, White Wolf Japanese Patisserie at 45 E 14 Mile Rd is a short walk and leans Japanese rather than French.
From there head north into the neighborhood. Memorial Park at 416 N Main St is the civic heart of Clawson and a flat, short walk from the downtown blocks. If you want more room, Clawson City Park at 935 N Custer Ave is the larger option and worth the extra few minutes.
Come back down Main Street for lunch. Clawson Cafe at 45 S Main St is the all-day anchor of the downtown strip. If you want something faster, Perry's Pizza at 665 S Main St and Barb's Pasties & Pizza at 610 S Main St are both long-standing south Main fixtures — Barb's if you want a pasty, Perry's if you want a slice.
Use the middle of the afternoon for whatever you have been putting off. Downtown Clawson is dense with small independent shops: r. collective salon at 122 S Main St, Clawson Barber Shop at 27 W Maple Rd, Side Street Nail Salon at 17 W Tacoma St. Most are small-team operations, so call ahead rather than walking in.
Early evening belongs on a patio. Red & The Wolf at 110 E 14 Mile Rd and Local at 143 E 14 Mile Rd sit near each other and both put tables outside when the weather holds. Pick whichever has the shade.
Finish at Weiss Distilling Co. at 34 E 14 Mile Rd — a working distillery with a tasting room, and the most Clawson-specific way to end a night. If you want one more round, Noori Pocha/Chicken at 1 S Main St sits right at the Main and 14 Mile corner.
Total walking, start to finish: under two miles.
